      2018 Click for Kids sweepstakes! from WTOP. The school with the most votes will win money to help support the school. Voting has begun, today through March 16 th   at 5 pm.  VOTE DAILY for BOWIE HIGH SCHOOL https://wtop.com/2018-cl ick-for-kids/2018-click-kids- voting/ Voters must be at least 13 years old to qualify and the school with the most votes at the end of the voting window will win $10,000, the school with the second most votes will win the $7,500 and the third most will receive $5,000. Remember that you can vote ONCE a day so encourage voters at your school to come back daily.   Winners will be announced on Monday March 19 th Thank You Bowie High Community.

    • VOLUNTEER: Terps Against Hunger

      On March 11 th  at the University of Maryland, Terps Against Hunger will be hosting its inaugural Senior Class Council Community Service Event.  Over 800 volunteers will work together to pack 100,000 meals  in a single day to support local families in need. The event will run from  12-4pm  at UMD’s Adele H. Stamp Student Union, in the Grand Ballroom . Volunteers are welcome to sign up for one or more shifts through the following registration link:  http://tah.ivolunteer.co m/seniorclass   Terps Against Hunger is a student-run organization at the University of Maryland. We unite students, staff, faculty, and the community in the fight against hunger through preparing highly-nutritious, nonperishable meals. All of the meals we pack are distributed locally, through a network of foodbanks and shelters including: the Capital Area Food Bank, DC Central Kitchen, Manna Food Center, and more.    We’d greatly appreciate if you could share the details of this event with your students and school community via your listservs or other means. If you have any questions, I would be delighted to receive an email or a phone call from you. 

    • Spring Coffee House Auditions

      Attention all Bowie High School musicians, poets and comedians! Spring Coffeehouse auditions will be held   Thursday, March 8th  beginning at   2:40   in Room 152-A of the main building.  We want to see you there!  Practice hard, and bring a copy of your lyrics/poem to submit to the judges.  Vocalists, if you are planning to use a track, please have it with you at the auditions.  Please sign up to audition on the poster outside of Room 152-A.    The Spring Coffeehouse will be held on  Friday, March 23rd  in the main building cafeteria beginning at  7:00 p.m.   Tickets are $5 and they will be sold at the door.

    • AP Fee Registration & Payment May 2018

      Register for AP – Deadline to REGISTER is MARCH 20th  - Register for you AP’s even if Prince George’s county is paying for them - Go to the Bowie Website - Locate “Register for AP Test” under the Summit AP  Program tab in the top menu. - Please complete the Google Form before March 20 th . Orders must be placed with College Board in order to have the materials on time. Paying for AP - Deadline to PAY is MARCH 20 th - If you need to pay for an AP go to your SchoolBucks account or Locate the SchoolBucks AP Link on the Bowie Website under the Summit AP Program tab in the top menu.   It says "Pay for Tests Online" - FROM SchoolBucks – Choose Menu Choose School Store Choose AP Exams - Pay for the AP’s you wish to take. ** Please read the letter regarding AP Fees located on the Bowie Website if you have any question about payment concerns.

    • End of Day Updates for Bus Riders

      Bus Riders can now sign up for text messages about last minute bus changes at the end of the day. Text @busdutys to the number 81010 . Also remember that any bus number within the 300s will line up in the horseshoe and any bus number within the 400s will ine up along the Access Road (extending from the Bulldog Sculpture to the Bowie Center for Performing Arts)
