Ron Watson
Vice Chair/ At Large
Ron Watson has been a Prince George's County resident for over 40 years. Raised in District Heights Maryland, he graduated from Central Senior High in 1984, and currently resides in Upper Marlboro, MD. Dr. Watson was elected on November 7, 2006 to a four-year term as an At-Large member of the Prince George's County Board of Education., and on December 1 2008, he was re-elected as the Board Vice Chair for a second term.
Dr. Watson serves as the Prince George's County Board of Education representative on the Legislative Committee for the Maryland Associated Boards of Education (MABE). He has held two Governor appointments, The first, to serve on the Career and Technology Education Task Force, and the second, to serve on the Task Force on Student Physical Fitness in Maryland Schools where he represented all school systems in the state.
Dr. Watson is a strong advocate for community service, and in particular, support to our County's youth. He currently serves as the District Chairman of the Prince George's County Boy Scouts of America, and in 2008 started a County-Wide Mentoring Program targeted for at-risk youth. He was the founder of the PAWS Mentoring Program (Pals Achieving Weekly Success), and founder and Past President of Advocates for Cultural Enrichment and Education (ACEE) in New York State. He has also served as the former advisor of the National Society of Black Engineers for Morgan State University. Dr. Watson was a commissioned officer who served 15 years in the U.S. Army and in 2006 left service at the rank of Major after serving a 9 month tour of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. Watson is President of Watson Performance Management, LLC, a locally based business management consulting company which provides support to NSA and other goverrnment agencies in Business Operations, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Process Improvement.
Dr. Watson received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Morgan State University, a Masters in Advanced Technology and PhD in Systems Science both from the State University of New York, and he holds a MBA from George Washington University. He also served as a National Science Foundation Fellow. In 2008 he graduated from Leadership Maryland, a statewide leadership program designed to broaden the base of leaders through statewide knowledge and leadership ability that can be applied with power, influence and authority for the greater good of Maryland.

Upper Marlboro/Waldorf Chapter, Prince Hall, F&AM, Chenango Lodge #39, Lifetime Member, African American Democratic Club of Prince George's County, NAACP of Prince George's County, National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), American Society of Engineering Educators (ASEE), and the Society of American Military Engineers.
