Biography 

Heather Iliff currently serves as a Staff Consultant with Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations.  Her background includes senior management positions with the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and the Open Society Institute.  She has national and international experience in strategic planning, board development, executive transition and organizational development.   At the Open Society Institute, Ms. Iliff served as Deputy Director of the Education Policy Institute where she managed large-scale education development projects and promoted systemic reforms.  At Alliance for Nonprofit Management, Ms. Iliff served as Deputy Director for Education where she oversaw research programs and the professional development of consultants, grant makers and other capacity builders.  Ms. Iliff also has conducted systemic educational assessments, has developed curriculum, and is experienced in program evaluation.

Ms. Iliff has been featured as a speaker at national conferences including Organizational Development Network Annual Conference, The Philanthropy and Non-Profit Performance Conference, Alliance for Nonprofit Management Annual Conference, and the Association of Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action.

Ms. Iliff serves on several national-level committees and coalitions, including the National Ethical Standards Committee of the Standards for Excellence Institute and the Best Practice in Public Interest Lobbying Team of the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest.  She currently serves as co-chair of the Partnership for Prince George’s, a funding collaborative to promote advocacy and capacity building among nonprofits, and the Partnership for Equity, a funding collaborative that brings together funders from the DC-Metro area.  Ms. Iliff holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from The American University and a Masters in Political Science from the Central European University (University of the State of New York). Ms. Iliff is an elected member of the Prince George’s County, MD Board of Education, representing District 2.
