  •  American Academy of Enviromental Engineers (AAEE) "How Much Enery Can You Conserve" Contest - open to Middle and High School students.
  • Women In Film & Video seeks high school students interested in TV/FILM for FREE program!
The Women In Film & Video organization's "Image Makers" program is looking for high school students with an interest in TV and film to participate in our 2012 program.  Image Makers teaches students how to create, film and edit public service announcements (PSAs) for a local non-profit organization.  We're in need of eager students to take part in our FREE program.  It's a great way to learn production and they'll actually get their hands dirty with real cameras and editing equipment (and they will keep a copy of the finished work for their resume and college applications).  It's free and we provide breakfast for the students! There's also a possibility the PSAs may air on a local TV news station, and, of course, YouTube.

The program meets for 8 consecutive Saturdays in downtown Washington, DC, beginning in February 2012, at a Metro accessible location. Please share this announcement in your newsletters and with your guidance counselors, fellow teachers, directors of communications and other programs that target students who are interested in media careers.  All interested students should head to the WIFV webpage for more information about Image Makers, video clips about the program AND to complete an application (http://wifv.org/content.asp?pl=7&sl=11&contentid=11).  Applications are available for download on the website, and are due DECEMBER 2, 2011.
