August, 2012
Dear Benjamin Tasker Parents, Guardians, and Students:
Welcome to a new and exciting school year. I would like to introduce myself; I am Ingrid Michele Johnson and I am honored to serve as your new principal. I have been an educator for the past 25.years. I am a mother of two who is passionate about students and learning. My family has lived in Prince George’s County for the past 18 years and I am excited to join this learning community. I firmly believe that all children should have the opportunity to achieve at high levels of excellence. This year our administrative team includes three Assistant Principals: Mr. Gary McCorkle, Ms. Brenda Rison and Mr. Philip Tazi. I believe that together we will enhance our child-centered professional learning community. At Benjamin Tasker Middle School high expectations will yield academic success for all students! Every staff member is committed to doing his or her part to ensure that your child achieves academic excellence; and we look forward to working with you to guarantee the accomplishment of that goal. Our motto will be: Excellence Without Excuse, we are reaching beyond our best!
To ensure a successful school year please:

- Bus Schedules will be mailed directly to your current address on file by the Transportation Office. If your address has changed over the summer please notify the office as soon as possible. It is important to write your route number down and carry it with you. Parents should also have this information available should they call to check on a bus.
- Students must be appropriately attired for school. Appropriate school dress, personal appearance, and cleanliness have a desirable impact on student behavior and performance. Individuals who take pride in themselves take pride in their work. Appropriate dress is that which is suitable and comfortable for a work environment. The goal of the dress code is to create an environment in which learning is the priority.
