A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars (reducing your taxable income) for daycare/dependent care and or health care expenses and to receive tax-free reimbursement for your eligible out-of-pocket expenses.
PGCPS provides two FSA options. You may sign up for a health care and/or dependent care account during Open Enrollment with a maximum amount of $2,500 for health care and $5,000 for dependent care for the 2014 calendar year. The minimum amount for each account is $200.
Changes can only be made to a FSA during the plan year if the employee experiences an eligible family status change(marriage, birth, adoption, death, etc.).
New employees have thirty (30) days from their date of hire to enroll in a FSA using Oracle Self Service. Open enrollment is typically mid-November to mid-December.
