Eleanor Roosevelt junior Katelyn Stokes found lightning in a bottle for the second time in her high school career winning her second Maryland State Girls Singles Title 6 - 4, 6 - 1 over Wooton High School's Megan Hahn. Stokes won the title her freshman year and was a runner up last season. Roosevelt's #1 ranked tennis star carried a 19 - 0 record into the championship match against the Wooton freshman. Katelyn's poor serving started off championship match off on the wrong foot, but a steady all court game helped the Lady Raider close out the first set and dominate the second. Stokes will look forward to her summer USTA Junior season and a chance to win a third State Title her senior year.
