Art Department
secondary art program

Middle School art work

Secondary
The secondary art program is highly structured and is both a body of knowledge and a series of activities.  Art concepts and objectives are stressed and a logical progression of art activities is taught.  Multicultural education and an emphasis on higher level thinking skills are an integral part of the program.  Art reinforces outcomes in other areas.

The middle school art program is concerned with the particular nature and needs of the young adolescent.  Through instruction, students participate in drawing, painting, constructing, printmaking, sculpture, letterings and crafts. The aesthetics are emphasized in these activities.

The high school art program is flexible with a wide variety of art activities geared to diverse needs, interests and abilities of all students.  Appreciation, knowledge, understanding and skills are developed in drawing, painting, sculpting, crafts, computer graphics photography and more
