    READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK 2013

    Ardmore Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Week from February 25-March 1, 2013.  Students and staff were dressed each day to featureDr. Seuss' famous books such as "Fox in Socks" , "The Sleep Book", "Wacky Wednesday", "Horton Hatches the Egg", and "Green Eggs and Ham".  Mr. Cooper, Ms. Missirian, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Christou, and Mr. Rice read books to children broadcasted through their television.  Kindergarten teachers and parent volunteers cooked and tasted green eggs and ham for their students on March 1.  It was indeed a fun week of reading and learning!  Click the link to view our picture gallery.

    16th ANNUAL COOKIES-N-COCOA CONCERT

    Here's this time of the year once again!  Ardmore Elementary School family will celebrate joyful holiday songs such as Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Feliz Navidad, Deck the Halls etc.  Special performances by Lady Anchors STEP Team, Glee Club, I
    nstrumental Band, and Ardmore Angels.  The event will be held on December 5,
     2012 for Primary Grades (PreK-2nd) and December 6, 2012 for Intermediate Grades (3rd-6th) at Charles H. Flowers High School.  Click the link for more information.
    Ardmore Elementary School’s “Annual Thanksgiving Basket of Bounty” was held last November 20, 2012.  The program provides eligible low-income families with all the ingredients of the traditional Thanksgiving meal which includes butternut squash, cranberry sauce, can or box of gravy, dressing, cake mixes, pasta, beverages, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, pumpkin pie, etc.  Several chosen families also received whole turkey.  Teachers and students decorated their boxes and baskets with heartwarming thanksgiving messages.  The successful event was spearheaded by 
    Ms. Senneial Crutchfield, fourth grade Reading/Language Arts teacher, with the support of the entire school community.   
    HARVEST DAY @ARDMORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S COURT YARD 
    Ardmore Elementary School's harvest day is coming! Students and staff will have a chance to harvest on our own pumpkin patch farm located at the courtyard across third grade classroom.  Harvest schedule is on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.  Click here for 100 delicious pumpkin recipes.   
    FAST 1 (READING, MATH, & SCIENCE)
    The countywide assessment will begin October 16 & 17 Reading, October 18 & 25 Science, October 23 & 24 Math.
    DonorsChoose and Starbucks Foundation of Maryland granted Junie B. Jones' Readers in the Library Project.  The project was posted online last June 11, 2012.  After a month, Starbucks Foundation fully funded the project through DonorChoose.org.  These new Junie B. Jones books and audio books will be part of  our library collection. 

     

     

    Congratulations to Ardmore Elementary School for making the 2011 Maryland State Assessment Adequate Yearly Progress! 

    Congratulations to Ardmore Elementary School for being one of the forty-five Prince Georges County Public Schools recognized in the 2010 Maryland School Performance Program.    

    Ardmore Elementary School is honored for the school's performance in 2010 Maryland School Assessment (MSA) and for the improving student performance in special populations for the SY 2009-2010.
