The Alternative School Program Office provides students with an opportunity to earn a Maryland State High School Diploma by successfully completing courses during the evening, Saturday, summer or at the Community-Based Classroom.  Counselors will need a transcript from the last school attended to determine credits required for graduation. Any student enrolled in regular day school may seek concurrent enrollment in Evening/Saturday High School. Students may fulfill graduation requirements by successful completion of concurrent courses. Concurrently enrolled students must have a completed application and pay all tuition and fees.  The base school guidance counselor will provide the application and course information.

Evening/Saturday High School Student Profile:

  • At-risk students may be referred because of poor attendance and/or lack of progress towards a Maryland State High School Diploma.

  • Students may be enrolled as a full time/regular student taking a maximum of 5 credits per year.

  • Studentsmay enroll for concurrent classes in the Evening/Saturday School Program for credit recovery toward meeting graduation requirements for a Maryland State High School Diploma.

  • Studentsmay enroll in designated courses for original credit in Evening and/or SaturdaySchool.

  • Students who did not complete high school, are at least 16 years old, and have passed the eighth grade may enroll as full time/regular students.

  • Any student enrolled in regular day school may seek concurrent enrollment in Evening/Saturday High School.

  • Students may fulfill graduation requirements by successful completion of concurrent courses. Concurrently enrolled students must have a completed application and pay all tuition and fees.  The base school guidance counselor will provide the application and course information.
