892.562 Access to General Education Curriculum with Technology Accommodations 

(Lab Class) Class members investigate student characteristics, the collaborative role of educators, and strategies for differentiating instruction for students with learning disabilities within the general education environment. Participants examine universal design for learning strategies and technologies to enhance student participation in educational programs.

EDT723 Instructional Media and Design Techniques 

Learners will apply instructional design principles in the development of electronic media. Learners explore delivering instruction through multimedia and/or multiple modalities with a focus on matching appropriate technologies to learning outcomes. Design principles include the effects of contrast, continuity of text and graphics, relevancy of graphics to text and alignment.

Competence By Design: A Tutorial for Systems, Environment, Curricular and Materials Design in Learning Systems

How UDL relates to valuable practices such as differentiated instruction and is part of the useful mindset and toolset for RTI (response to intervention) that is becoming a widespread, data-based approach to designing instruction for every learner. This tutorial is not just for the special educator in your school.  It is for the general educator, paraprofessional, administrator, library or media specialist and even parent volunteers.
