UDL Provides Multiple Options for Minimizing Barriers

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a way to guide instructional planning by applying brain based research to provide students and teachers with multiple options for learning:
for presenting the instructional material (eg. verbally, in writing, musically etc).
for students' actions and expressions of what they know.
for student engagement (interest and persistence) in the learning activity.
to overcome barriers to learning.
to maximize information retention.
for maintaining high achievement standards.
to realize the goal to enable all students to gain knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for learning.
