• News Release: Phyllis E. Williams Spanish Immersion Wins Redskins Read Challenge

    UPPER MARLBORO, MDPhyllis E. Williams Spanish Immersion school will be rewarded Friday by the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation (WRCF) for taking top honors in the annual Redskins Read Book Challenge.


    The WRCF hosted the challenge during the 2016-2017 football season for schools across the Washington, D.C. area. Students were encouraged to read 10 or more books and have an adult nominate them for a reading certificate. Phyllis E. Williams Spanish Immersion students read the most books and had the highest participation level. The school will be presented with a new set of Chromebooks, as well as a set of books for each classroom library, during a celebratory rally.
