• Media Advisory: PGCPS to Dedicate Accokeek Academy

    UPPER MARLBORO, MD – On May 15, Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) will host a dedication ceremony for the new 66,500-square-foot elementary school portion of Accokeek Academy. The new facility can serve 445 students from prekindergarten through fourth grade.

    The Accokeek Academy band and choir will perform. Following the program, elected officials and special guests will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

    Accokeek Academy was designed as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building, whose features promote sustainability, water and energy efficiency, and a healthy indoor environment. Upon completion of the LEED rating process, the school is expected to attain gold-level certification.
